Data prior to 2004 is based on annual data from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, with the quarterly breakdown estimated by CSO. The series from 2004 onwards is based on the new CSO Quarterly Survey of Construction.

Scope

The construction sector as defined by NACE Rev.1.1 Division 45: general construction and special trade construction for buildings and civil engineering, building installation, and building completion. It includes new work, repair, additions and alterations, the erection of pre-fabricated buildings or structures on the site, and also constructions of a temporary nature.
